Where he transforms learning through innovative, interdisciplinary experiences that captivate learners of all ages. His expertise in technology integration and AI includes developing AI policy for the New York City Public Schools and state policy for the Rhode Island Department of Education.
His work bridges psychology, literacy, curriculum design, technology integration, leadership, and experiential learning. He creates learning environments that foster critical thinking through project-based approaches that transcend traditional subject boundaries, making education more relevant and impactful for today’s learners.
Beginning his teaching career as a high school English teacher in Ann Arbor, MI, he has since served in various leadership roles including high school principal, instructional coach, and district-wide curriculum coordinator.
In addition to his leadership at Mindblue, he also serves as Chief Learning Officer for Irrational Labs, developing learning programs focused on AI and behavioral design for Fortune 500 companies.
As an author, he has co-authored “Making Curriculum Pop: Developing Literacies across All Content Areas” (NCTE). His writing has appeared in The New York Times Learning Network and The Journal of Staff Development, spanning learning, technology, curriculum, and climate science.
He holds a doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies from Teachers College Columbia University, where his research focused on Experiential Learning Events, complementing his Master’s degree in Education and Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
After a long hiatus, he returned to competitive swimming in 2024 following his father’s passing. He achieved his first national masters qualifying time in 2025 and enjoys connecting with local US Masters teams when he travels.
Ryan lives in the Chicago suburbs with his incredible wife Nicole and brilliant daughter Téa.
